Teddington is a delightful villagey neighbourhood sat very pleasantly between the river Thames to the north-east and the wonderful Bushy Park to the south-west. Broad street and the High Street offer a great selection of independent cafes, restaurants and pubs. The train station is just below the high street and trains to Waterloo take around 40 minutes. For this part of London, Teddington isn't really that expensive either. One of the best things about living in Teddington is having the huge Bushy Park right on your doorstep. Bushy park is home to the original Parkrun - a free 5k fun run that takes place every Saturday at 9am, beginning near the Diana fountain.

Buzzing, restaurants, nightlife, gay bars, what more could you ask for š I love Soho. Itās on of my go to places for a weekend night out. It can feel seedy in parts, especially when you stumble down an alley way with neon signs outside seedy apartments showing āModelā, but for the most part itās a lively entertainment district with plenty of options to drink, eat and have fun!

A lively area with lots do. Packed with bars, restaurants, theatres and hotels this area north of the river and encompassing embankment is very popular with tourists and locals alike. Gordonās wine bar, known to be Londonās oldest wine bar is a great place to check out, especially in the winter with its cosy, cave like interior.

A great place to live for young professionals, with plenty of pubs, bars and independent restaurants. The Albion pub is one of my favourites in the area and has a lovely big courtyard in the back. There are plenty of public transport options too with Caledonian Road & Barnsbury station. Angel and Highbury & Islington stations are also pretty nearby.

I've been living in Crystal Palace for about four years now and I have to say I absolutely love it. I've lived in a few places across South London - including Brixton, Herne hill & Camberwell - all of which I enjoyed. But Crystal Palace just has something about it. It has a great setup, built around the Crystal Palace triangle, with great pubs, cafes and restaurants on all sides. My favourite pub is the Alma but can't go wrong with the Westow either. The Sparrowhawk a cracking pub too, you can't go wrong really. There's a real villagey feel, on the top of a big hill (you'll get fit living here) with lovely residential streets of pretty old Victorian houses. The rescue of the cinema situation by Everyman was a real bonus. There's a really lovely quirky feel to the place I find. It's a bit bohemian being a hotspot for antiques and vintage wares with the emporium and vintage shops on Church Rd opposite the cinema. Wander through the backstreets inside the triangle and you'll see little studios and artists workshops. Sometimes the artists even have open house and you're welcomed in to have a look at their works and even enjoy a glass of wine. Also love the Haynes Lane Market, which is open a few days a week. Of course there's also the awesome Crystal Palace park, which these days has a Brown and Green cafe, down the bottom where the parkrun starts and finishes. I have to say, it does feel a bit far out at times, having lived in zone 2 for many years beforehand. And the public transport isn't the best. I work in the Farringon area and the trains from Crystal Palace aren't great for that. Nor the trains from Gypsy Hill. I like to jog over to Sydenham Hill and catch a decent train in from there, shower at work, etc. Appreciate that wouldn't be for everyone! In any case, these days I probably only average 2 days a week in the office and 3 days a week from home. I'm happy spending a decent chunk of my time in such a lovely area. Access to the city isn't as important to me as it used to be.

White City has gone through some heavy residential and commercial development over recent years. With Westfield Shopping Centre, itās new underground station, White City Living, its vast new residential quarter along with the new entertainment district, it has become a much more desirable place to live in recent years, with the majority of its new build 1 bed flats now letting for over Ā£2.5k per month!

Hammersmith is home to some gorgeous areas, especially by the riverside. Some great bars and pubs dotted along the river which get busy on weekends. My personal favourite is the Old Ship pub west of Hammersmith Bridge. It has great transport links with Hammersmith station served by 4 lines including Hammersmith & City, District, Piccadilly and Circle. With the A4 running through it it is also great for drivers. The centre is quite busy and isnāt as nice but it has great amenities and shopping facilities.

Regentās Park is stunning, not just for its beautiful park which is the home to London Zoo, but also for itās canal and itās surrounding areas which include Primrose Hill, Camden, Marylebone, Fitzrovia and Little Venice. Itās probably unaffordable for most to live but great for a weekend day out to visit the zoo or get one of the canal boats and cruise along the picturesque canals.

I absolutely love this area for a walk around Hyde Park followed by a beer and Sunday roast at the Victoria pub situated just north of the park in one of the areas pretty residential roads.Ł Itās a great pub with good food and is dog friendly too. The surrounding residential roads are very pretty lined with picturesque and very expensive period properties. The perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday.

Went for a day visit around Peckham to look for venues for my birthday and came across so many cool spotsā¦ I had always heard Peckham was cool place with lots of great rooftop bars but when I actually visited it it certainly exceeded my expectations. Lots of great rooftop bars including Franks and Forza wine, cool food markets with a good choice of international food.. it wasnāt cheap though. The highlight of the day was when walking past a venue with a DJ and saxophone player I went inside and realised it was actually a tattoo parlour and you could only get a drink if staying to get a tattoo.. very cool I thought although I didnāt stay for the tattoo!

Chiswick is a lovely place to live but yes it is very expensive, especially given it is a little bit of a journey from central London. It's not miles away but it is zone 3. I probably also depends on the age of the people who you're talking to. I know people that live in Chiswick now that they're in their 40's but they certainly wouldn't have lived there in their 20's. Aside from the fact that they wouldn't have been able to afford it, it's not a happening or exciting part of town. Yes it's very nice but it might also feel pretty dull, depending on the stage of life you're at and what you're into. Picture wandering around pleasant parks and along the river, in amongst convoys of expensive prams. Enjoying a quiet pint of real ale in a lovely old pub. Perfect for some, but not everyone. Places like Shoreditch and Clapham are more central, more lively and serve a different, younger demographic. Although I wouldn't necessarily say either of these places are any cheaper. Try buying an actual house in any of these places. Very much out of reach for the majority of us.

Back in the 80s and 90s growing up as a kid in West London it was always a treat venturing into High Street Kensington (HSK) with my parents (pretty sure I hold the record for consecutive trips to MacDonald's on HSK on a Saturday between 1987 and 1990!). There was something magical about the place, not as commercial as Oxford Street and not as pretentious as somewhere like Kings Road. You were in London but felt you could have been in Paris or Milan, it was an amazing place for people watching and had the benefit of having Hyde Park on its doorstep as well. In actual fact, a lot of Persians made Kensington their homes post the Revolution because High Street Kensington looked like and represented a sort of class and wealth they often associated with their home land before things went tits up. HSK had a mix of everything quintessential British mixed with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flare. It had the perfect blend. In it's heyday it was like London's Rodeo Drive. HSK had its own charm and unique quality. It also had the iconic Odeon Cinemas which were a symbol of HSK for many years. Unfortunately, these cinemas were turned into flats circa 5 years ago and you could argue that this is the moment it's star really started to fade. I am afraid to say, in my opinion, HSK seems to be somewhat of a 'has been' shopping spot and perhaps past its glory days. There are still numerous shops and restaurants along the street but the 'wow' factor of yesteryear has diminished. There are various reasons for this : 1) Pandemic, some shops have shut down simply because of a lack of footfall. 2) The rise of on-line shopping. The amazon's of this world have minimised the need to go out and buy from your local shop. 3) Competition. Westfield is just down the road and has everything HSK can offer but under one roof. Having said all that, it may never reach the heights of the 80s/90s but it is not all doom and gloom. There are a lot of fabulous side streets (one particular street hosted infamous after parties - think a modern Studio 54 on steroids) with unbelievable architecture from the days when England ruled the seas and the world. HSK also offers The New Design Museum which is one of the best museum shops in the UK. Close to Holland Park and Leighton House, and there is a tube station and frequent buses, so the area does still have a lot of plus points. Will it ever go back to its glory years? Probably not. Does it still stand tall against other London shopping High Streets and still worth visiting? Yes. It may not blow you away but it still has a lot to offer and the MacDonald's still stands. Who knows, one day someone could beat my record :-) What are your views on HSK? How does it compare to other notable London shopping High Street's?

West Ealing is really a melting point of people and cultures. A short walk on its high street and you are bound to come across dozens of different languages, dialects and people! West Ealing's rich multiculturalism is personified in its ridiculous choice of amazing restaurants! From Greek to Indian to Persian, it is all there! My favourite is probably the legendary Persian Palace. I would go as far as saying that pound for pound it is the best restaurant in West London. You really get the most buck for your bang! Quality food, big portions, great ambience and good service. Highly recommend. What is your favourite restaurant in West Ealing and any recommendations?

This site describes Woolwich as being "scruffy and deprived". While that is certainly the case in some parts, it's also one of the most historic and beautiful parts of South London. The area was the former site of one of the biggest munitions factories in the UK and is home to to several cool pubs including the Dial Arch, The Guard House and the Taproom, part of the Hop Stuff Brewery, some excellent cafes and the popular Royal Arsenal Farmers' Market. Greenwich Council have also announced a Ā£21 million investment to help deliver improvements throughout Woolwich. Plans also include a new Market Pavilion, restoring shop fronts, enhancements to the historic Royal Arsenal Gatehouse and space for events. They've also launched the popular PUNCHDRUNK theatre experience which is drawing many crowds to the area. With access into Central London via the Uberboat services, as well as the upcoming Crossrail, Woolwich Arsenal will become one of the most in demand areas to live over the next few years. London has many beautiful and great places to live in. However, I think Wimbledon is sometimes overlooked when having 'best place to live in London' discussions. The first thing that stands out about Wimbledon is it's village-style living. It offers a unique feel of almost living in the countryside yet being part of a world class city. In a post-pandemic world, many have wanted bigger space and to be closer to nature/wildlife, especially those with children. Wimbledon has all of that and more. A child-friendly atmosphere, living in Wimbledon you get the feeling of being part of a community where residents all know each other which is rare in London in 2022 where usually you have more chance of predicting the lottery than knowing the first names of your nearest 3 neighbours! Living in Wimbledon is good for the soul. You have easy access to various open spaces that provide the perfect backdrop for an afternoon stroll or the ideal place for a picnic with family and friends. You may think what makes village life in Wimbledon so appealing? Firstly, you cannot say the same about many London boroughs. Traditionally, as great as village life can be there are certain cases where it isnāt feasible; for example, when it comes to commuting, villageās often lack quick or easy travel connections. This is what makes village-style living in Wimbledon so appealing; having all of the aspects of ordinary village life right in the capital, ideal for those wanting easy access across London. In short, living in Wimbledon gives residents the opportunity to be able to escape/avoid London's hustle and bustle without worrying about the long commute. Therefore, you can even maintain your job as well as social life and transport links into the City without compromise! Itās not often that horse riding around Wimbledon Common, moments from your doorstep, can be found in London. It gives residents the best of both worlds with Wimbledon offering some of the best schools around, such as Kingās College School, which was dubbed ā100% excellentā by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Living in a community that has village-like qualities as well as excellent local schools can also contribute to people relocating. I highly recommend living in Wimbledon, one of the most underrated places in London. What are your thoughts about Wimbledon?
