Formely known locally as "Scabby Wood", Abbey Wood is a South-East London neighbourhood that's on the up. Transport connections are due to improve hugely with Crossrail and house prices have been rising accordingly. There is some Victorian housing on offer but generally it's not the most attractive of locations.
