Loved by locals as Stokey, this North-East London area is a mix of hippy and cosmopolitan and has a local residential feel ranging in affordability. Its high street has a social scene that keeps getting better with kebab shops a plenty. Revamped Clissold Park is the green space available.

Loved Stoke Newington, even without a tube line, as the double deckers are better. Has a welcoming and relaxed feeling but with loads of places to check out. It has one of the best walks in London with the Abney Park Cemetery. Overgrown, quiet and beautiful, and less busy than other parks in the area. You can find yourself alone in there and forget you’re in a city. Has great places to have a chilled time in, with Viva Dalston the ultimate space. Great food and relaxed staff, you can sit there all day eating nachos, drinking and talking. Should definitely be on the repeat list of any London visit.
