A zone 4 North-East London / Essex suburban neighbourhood favoured for its access to the city via the Central Line, the amenities of the rather attractive George Lane high street area and the residential backstreets of Victorian houses.

You'll probably never take the Essex out of South Woodford but it really is a decent spot. Great links into town via the central line and it really is a nice place to live. Wander up or down George Lane and you'll find an array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Playing devil's advocate it could probably be a bit greener but you do have the Gilbert's Slade area which is good for a walk
