Manor Park

Manor Park is generally not seen as a desirable neighbourhood. It is located between East Ham to the south and Ilford to the east. There is also very little going on locally, however streets of relatively affordable and attractive Victorian houses combined with easy access to Wanstead Flats makes this a good choice for some.

The other day I had to do some work in East Ham and once finished I thought I'd take a walk up towards Wanstead Flats. To get there I cut through the Manor Park area. I must say, having spent a fair bit of time working around Newham the last few weeks, I wasn't expecting much. However, I thought Manor Park actually seemed pretty nice. The backstreets are home to attractive Victorian houses which, after a bit of browse online, seem like good value. For London at least. It has to be said that there didn't seem to be much going on but I could see that suiting some people. Wanstead flats are right on the doorstep. I didn't have time for a pint but the Golden Fleece looked pretty appealing!
