I've spent a bit of time in Peckham recently and have very much enjoyed it. Yes I'd heard lots about it being very cool and hipster, to the point where I'd aleady grown to dislke the place, despite never having been there. But what took me by surprise is just how nice it is, especially some of the areas around Bellenden Road and the back streets down to Peckham Rye. Undeniably the main sort of commercial area outside Peckham Rye station and along Rye Lane still looks pretty ropey. But there are lots of cool places if you take the time to look. I still think Peckham wouldn't be for everyone. There's defintely something still tatty and rough about the place, which is maybe what many people love about it. I'm not sure I could live there personally but Peckham has exceeded my expectations

Went for a day visit around Peckham to look for venues for my birthday and came across so many cool spots… I had always heard Peckham was cool place with lots of great rooftop bars but when I actually visited it it certainly exceeded my expectations. Lots of great rooftop bars including Franks and Forza wine, cool food markets with a good choice of international food.. it wasn’t cheap though. The highlight of the day was when walking past a venue with a DJ and saxophone player I went inside and realised it was actually a tattoo parlour and you could only get a drink if staying to get a tattoo.. very cool I thought although I didn’t stay for the tattoo!
