The other day I had to do some work in East Ham and once finished I thought I'd take a walk up towards Wanstead Flats. To get there I cut through the Manor Park area. I must say, having spent a fair bit of time working around Newham the last few weeks, I wasn't expecting much. However, I thought Manor Park actually seemed pretty nice. The backstreets are home to attractive Victorian houses which, after a bit of browse online, seem like good value. For London at least. It has to be said that there didn't seem to be much going on but I could see that suiting some people. Wanstead flats are right on the doorstep. I didn't have time for a pint but the Golden Fleece looked pretty appealing!
