A friend of mine that has lived in Stratford (well, actually Maryland) for many years said to me that you can’t polish a turd, but they really are trying their very best. The Olympic park and Westfields shopping centre have brought much needed footfall and money to the area. Now Crossrail too! If you set aside for a moment the fact that Westfields is something many of us would avoid like the plague, this all has to be pretty positive for the area. But will it ever be a nice place to live... I can’t see it personally. But then I guess other places have been transformed against all odds. Maybe there is hope for Stratford.

Well we can't all live in Belgravia can we mate. Stratford has become a sweet east-end hub and handy for shopping, cinema, etc. for peeps that live out this way
